We Understand What You’re Going Through

Because we’re living it, too

Who We Are

Technology & ImplemeNTATION

Keith

I’ve been a technology professional for over 30 years. Long before that, I was the kid taking things apart just to see how they worked and figuring out how to put them back together. That early curiosity never went away, and it still drives how I approach problem-solving today.

Most of my career has been in consulting, including nine years as a project manager at the Centers for Disease Control. I’ve worked on a wide range of complex systems and was often responsible for making them understandable for non-technical teams, helping bridge the gap between engineers, stakeholders, and real-world needs.

Along the way, I’ve also been a real estate investor and broker. I’ve flipped houses, managed contractors and subcontractors, and done hands-on work including framing, electrical, and plumbing. I understand not just the technology, but how homes actually function and how to implement things correctly.

That combination matters. I design solutions that work in real homes for real people. I handle the full implementation, including coordinating licensed professionals when needed. I use reliable, proven technology because when something matters, it has to work every time.

Lauren Silberman
Client Communication & Family Perspective

Lauren

I’m a University of Pennsylvania graduate and a licensed real estate broker with over 20 years of experience. I’ve also worked in public policy, including roles with the Governor of Georgia and the Georgia Child Care Council.

In real estate, I learned that communication is everything. Setting expectations, following up, and making sure clients always know what’s happening next. That same approach carries through to everything we do at carebridgeX.

I’m also a daughter helping manage the day-to-day details of my mom’s life. That includes coordinating appointments, handling bills and accounts, and making sure everything stays on track. I know what it feels like to get the call that something went wrong. I understand the stress, the responsibility, and the constant question of whether you are doing enough.

When we work with families, I bring that perspective. It’s not just about what technology can do. It’s about what people will actually use, and what will truly reduce stress and make life easier.

The Solution

Small Changes, Big Impact

We started small. A Lutron fan controller and lighting control next to Lauren’s mom’s bed so she could adjust things from her iPad without getting up. Smart thermostats that Lauren and I could monitor and adjust remotely when Cathey accidentally changed the settings.

Safer Nights

Lighting and fan controls next to her bed let her adjust everything without getting up. She can light the path to the bathroom before she even stands.

Medication & Monitoring

A HERO dispenser alerts us when it’s time for her medication and confirms when she’s taken it. We can check everything from our phones.

Access & Connection

An Echo Show lets us check in without being intrusive. A smart lock allows emergency access. Outdoor lights turn on automatically so she always feels safe.

Cathey’s favorite thing? Not having to get out of bed in the dark to turn on a light or adjust the fan. She can wake up, tap her iPad, and light the entire path to the bathroom before she even sits up. No stumbling. No falls.

For Lauren and me, we still worry. That never goes away. But we don’t panic. We can check her medication app, and we can see if she’s adjusted the thermostat. We can call her on the Echo Show even when her phone is off the hook or lost in the house.

We don’t have to rush over three times a day. We can check in, adjust things remotely, and know she’s safe. And when we do visit, it’s to spend time with her, not to fix another problem.

Why We Started carebridgeX

Helping Other Families Do the Same

The Questions We Kept Seeing

As we navigated this with Cathey, Lauren joined online groups for adult children caring for aging parents. She saw the same questions over and over: How do I know if Mom took her pills? What can I do about Dad getting up in the dark? How do I check on them without being overbearing?

Why We Had Answers

We realized we’d found answers to these questions. Not because we’re geniuses, but because I have 30+ years in technology and hands-on problem-solving, and Lauren brings the caregiver perspective of someone living this every day.

Why This Matters to Families Like Ours

We started carebridgeX because we believe other families deserve the same peace of mind we’ve found. We know what it’s like to be part of the Gen X sandwich generation—caring for aging parents while raising kids, managing careers, and wondering if you’re doing enough.

This Is Personal

This isn’t just a business for us. It’s personal. It’s giving back to the communities Lauren’s connected with and using what we’ve learned the hard way to help others skip straight to the solutions.

We built this because we needed it.

Our Approach

How We Work Differently

We’re not a typical smart home installer, electrician, or handyman service. We focus on one thing: helping people stay safe and independent at home.

We listen first

We don’t show up with a pre-packaged solution. We walk through your parent’s home, ask questions, and observe their routines. Many families know something is wrong but aren’t sure what they need. We help you figure out what will actually solve the problem.

We focus on what works

Just because a technology exists doesn’t mean your parent will use it. We design systems around their comfort level. If they won’t use an app, we use physical controls. If they love their iPad, we build around that.

We use reliable technology

We’ve seen what happens when cheap systems fail, and it’s never at a convenient time. We only install proven, commercial-grade technology we’d trust in Cathey’s home.

We train everyone

We don’t install and disappear. We stay until your loved one is comfortable using the system. We create simple guides and make sure the whole family understands how everything works.

We set clear boundaries

We’re honest about what we will and won’t do. We don’t install fragile systems or oversell technology your parent doesn’t need.

We design for real life

Everything we install has to work day to day, not just in theory. If it doesn’t make life easier, we don’t recommend it.

Local Roots

Part of the Atlanta Community

Lauren is a native Atlantan, born and raised here with deep family roots in the community. Her mother, Cathey Steinberg, served in the Georgia State Legislature and as the state’s Consumer Insurance Advocate. Her father, David Steinberg, was a beloved cardiologist in Atlanta for decades.

I moved to Atlanta in 1994, and it’s been home ever since. We raised our two kids here and have run businesses here for over 20 years. This is home.

We’re a family-run business. When you call, you’re talking to Keith or Lauren, not a call center. When we come to your parent’s home, it’s us doing the assessment, the installation, and the training.
We treat your parents the way we treat Cathey: with patience, respect, and care.

Silberman Family
Your Neighbors, Not Just A Service

When we say we serve North Atlanta families, we mean it. We’re your neighbors. We understand what it’s like to balance careers, kids, and aging parents in this community.

Let’s Make This Easier

If you’re dealing with the same challenges we were, you don’t have to figure it out alone. We’ll help you understand what’s possible and what will actually make a difference for your family.

We built this because we needed it.
Now we help other families do the same.

No pressure. Just a conversation.
